Family of dead man alleges negligence in Chennai hospital where doctor attacked – Chennai News

Family members of a man who died at Kalaignar Super Specialty Hospital in Guindy, Chennai, have taken up the hospital authorities, claiming that he died due to negligence.

This is the same hospital where a senior the oncologist was stabbed by a patient’s son on Wednesday.

An altercation took place between the hospital authorities and the relatives of Vignesh, who was brought to the hospital late on Wednesday evening with stomach pain. Vignesh’s family members said that he died because doctors did not give him proper treatment.

One of Vignesh’s relatives who spoke to India Today said that he did not receive proper care as there was a protest by doctors in the hospital over Wednesday’s attack on Dr Balaji.

However, the hospital authorities denied all the allegations. They said there was no negligence on the part of the doctors and maintained that Vignesh was given adequate care.

According to the hospital, 33-year-old Vignesh was brought to the hospital with acute abdominal pain.

Before being brought to the government hospital, he underwent treatment at a private hospital for pancreas. According to government hospital authorities, his pancreas was “completely damaged”.

“Due to excessive alcohol consumption, Vignesh’s pancreas was completely damaged and both his kidneys were also damaged,” a hospital statement said. They also said that Vignesh was suffering from Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, the autoimmune disease caused by hypothyroidism.

Hospital authorities said Vignesh’s condition was explained to his family members and their consent was also taken before the treatment.

“When he experienced difficulty breathing early in the early hours of Friday, he was intubated. At 9:18 a.m. he died without responding to treatment,” the hospital said in a statement.
