A Singaporean woman feared for her life when she realized a Grab driver was watching a movie while driving in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on November 12.

Stomper C shared with Stomp that he booked a Grab ride from Taman Molek to AEON Mall Tebrau City at about 3:20 p.m.

“He played the music loud after he started driving,” she said.

“As I was standing behind him, I couldn’t see what he was doing, but I decided to take a closer look.

“To my horror, I saw that the driver was watching a movie on another device while driving.

“This is absolutely unacceptable.”

She stated that such reckless and irresponsible behavior endangered her safety as a passenger and the safety of other road users.

“I did not feel safe confronting the driver directly as I was alone and concerned for my own safety, but I reported it to Grab Malaysia,” she said.

“I hope they revoke his license.”

Those who use their phones while driving in Malaysia can be fined up to 1,000 lei ($300) or face up to three months in jail.
