OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – Law enforcement officials announced Thursday that one person is in custody after a shoplifting incident turned into a dangerous chase through three cities.

According to officials, the incident began after PD D’Iberville responded to reports of thefts at the Lowe’s located on Sangani Boulevard.

However, the situation escalated. The suspect led law enforcement on a high-speed chase into Biloxi and eventually into Ocean Springs.

The pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle collided with a trailer attached to an AT&T truck on Government Street.

For now, the suspect is charged with shoplifting and felony eluding. More charges may be pending.

D’Iberville PD, Biloxi PD and Ocean Springs PD were all involved in the arrest.
