Jude Law reveals what’s ‘really hard’ about his career – ‘it doesn’t feel right’

Jude Law admitted he is finding it “very difficult” to return to the UK and rent a place to live.

The Fantastic animals actor, 51, was born and raised in England, growing up in London. However, he has spent much of the past two years traveling with his wife Phillipa and their two young children while their home is being renovated.

So when he last visited the UK, he had to rent a place to live and admitted he found it “really disconcerting” not to have a home there.

The father of seven children, Law told him SmartLess podcast: “For the last couple of years, I’ve had a house that’s being renovated, and I have one of those nightmares, and it just goes on and on, so me and my wife and the two little ones, I’ve just been like, “OK, let’s travel the world, go wherever I work.”

“I went to California, then Canada, then France, then Australia and then New York.”

Asked if he missed having a home base, the actor said: “I thought I’d do more, but I really haven’t. I found some really nice houses around and some not so great, but mostly very good experiences.

“I’ll tell you what I found difficult, it was very difficult for me to go back to the UK because without my house I had this lovely house there, I’ve always lived there but going there as a visitor and renting sort of. somewhere, it just doesn’t feel right. I was only there for a few weeks to see my family, my parents and I don’t know.

The actor said he also discovered he liked “being a stranger in a city.” explaining, “It feels a little less emotionally taxing, I don’t know why.”

“I read the news about Britain and I was like, ‘Oh, not again, what are they doing?’… it’s like your uncle letting you down,” the star said. He joked, “As long as I’m here, well, it’s not my problem.”

With all the traveling, Law also talked about how she keeps to a good schedule, saying she likes to work out and eat well. “Give yourself plenty of time when I land somewhere to get over the jet lag,” he added. “I’m not one of those people who can pick up straight away, I say, give me a few days.”

Law has been married to Phillipa since 2019, and the pair have not shared the names of their two children. The actor is also a father Rafferty28, Iris, 24, and Rudy, 22, with his ex-wife Sadie Frost and has a daughter, Sophia, 15, with his ex Samantha Burke. Law also shares daughter Ada, nine, with former flame Catherine Harding.
