Nike Shades Jaylen Brown With Petty One-Liner After Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Big Game

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in Wednesday’s 127-120 overtime win over the Detroit Pistons. The Greek Freak got excited early, scoring 22 of his team-high 24 points in the first quarter en route to a game-high 59 points, finishing just five short of his career high.

Of all the adjectives that could describe Antetokounmpo’s performance, “childish” was not one of them. Nike, one of Antetokounmpo’s sponsors, highlighted that fact on social media after Milwaukee won.

“Nothing childish about them. 59 for the freaky Greek,” Nike wrote on X.

The tweet appears to be a not-so-subtle take on Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who called Antetokounmpo “a kid” after the Bucks forward hilariously ditched his fake handshake move Brown during the Celtics’ 113–107 win over the weekend. .

“Giannis is a kid. I’m just focused on helping my team win. And that’s what I did tonight.” Brown said.

Antetokounmpo, who signed his first sneaker deal with Nike in 2013, would seem to have a loyal and sassy ally in the billion-dollar sportswear company. The Bucks (4-8) will play the Celtics on Dec. 6.
