22-year-old man arrested after allegedly firing shots, wounding 1

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting a victim in the leg with a handgun Wednesday, according to arrest warrants.

Darius Antwain Lester, of Hepzibah, was arrested Wednesday, according to jail bookings.

Arrest warrants state around 11 a.m. in the 2000 block of Corning Street, Lester fired multiple shots at three victims, striking one in the lower right leg.

U.S. District Court, Federal Court, Augusta, Ga.

That victim was transported to Wellstar MCG for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, according to the affidavit.

Arrest warrants state that Lester also struck the front of the victims’ home while they were there and hit one of the victim’s cars.

The total amount of the damage is unknown, according to the affidavit.

Lester is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony and two counts of criminal damage to property in the first degree.

For Lester’s possession of firearms charges, bail was set at $7,900 each, according to jail bookings.

Records show that for the remaining expenses, the bond has not been established.

Lester is being held at the Richmond County Jail, according to bookings.
