Recovery efforts are underway after the truck crashed into the St. Joseph of Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says two previously missing men were found dead Wednesday afternoon inside a pickup truck that deputies say crashed into the St. River. Joseph, just outside Elkhart.

Police were called around 3:45 p.m. to State Road 120, just west of County Road 19. According to them, a Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading east on State Road 120 when it ran off the road, went down a ditch and reached the river.

Rescue crews recovered the bodies of two men from the truck. They were identified as Theo Bean, 30, of Elkhart, and Tireno Washington, 39, of Bristol.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says Bean and Washington had been missing since early Sunday morning. Family members have been notified of their deaths.
