Anthony Davis is reaping the benefits of JJ Redick’s new system

Through the first two games of the season, Anthony Davis is averaging 35.5 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. The future Hall of Famer is shooting 53.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range. He thrives as The main offensive option of the Los Angeles Lakersleading by example on both sides of the floor.

On Friday against the Phoenix Suns, Davis was a dominant force for the Lakers. He controlled the glass and was a reliable source of offense against a very talented opponent during the Lakers’ 123-116 victory.

When speaking to the media after the game, Davis credited the offensive system that JJ Redick has instilled in him since becoming head coach. The veteran big noted how the Lakers play with more space and enjoy their time on the court.

“The way the team is playing, guys are making big shots. We’re making the right plays,” Davis said. “Obviously, the schemes that (JJ Redick) put in, it just helps me, it helps everybody. We have so much space. We have fun doing it. That’s one of our pillars is joy and we’re just have fun playing basketball.”
