Detroit Pistons Big Man Remains On Injury Report For Matchup vs Heat

*UPDATE: Jalen Duren has been upgraded to AVAILABLE for Tuesday’s game against the Miami Heat

From a stunning loss to the Houston Rockets, this one Detroit Pistons they will finish their current house on Tuesday night. As they prepare for their first NBA Cup game of the season, they could continue to be without one of their key players.

Early in last week’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, Jalen Duren was forced out with an ankle injury. He was later diagnosed with a sprained ankle, which forced him to miss the last two games.

Duren remains questionable ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Miami Heat. So far, there have been no clear updates on when the Pistons center will return to action. However, Duren was seen working with trainers after Monday’s practice.

Duren had appeared in nine games this season before his injury against the Hornets. The third-year big man is averaging just shy of a double-double with 8.0 PPG and 9.7 RPG.

With Duren still on the injury report, the Pistons could be very thin in the front court. While he is listed as probable, Isaiah Stewart is also listed as he is also dealing with an ankle injury. Besides these two, JB Bickerstaff’s option at center is Paul Reed. The former G-League forward has played in five games since coming over from the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 5.8 PPG and 2.0 RPG off the bench.

This is a matchup where the Pistons will need size, as the Heat will run a lot of things through Bam Adebayo. With Jimmy Butler out, the All-Star big man is sure to see a bigger workload against Detroit.

For those looking to tune in to this NBA Cup action, tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
