Man sentenced to 25 years in prison for 2022 McLain shooting death

The man responsible for the 2022 McLain homecoming game has been convicted.

According to the Tulsa County District Attorney, Ni’avien Lee Golden was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

On September 30, 2022, people were injured in the McLain High School shooting.

Police said the four victims were all under 20 years old.

One of the victims, 17-year-old Terron Yarbrough, was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

Investigators said Yarbrough was running when he was shot.

“When I heard the shots, my instinct, I just couldn’t move my legs to run away like everybody else,” Terron’s sister, Jordan, said through tears. “I was looking at my dad and he was fine, but what hurts me is that when my brother was laying there, I couldn’t see him.”

Golden turned himself in on an arrest warrant.
