Martha Stewart pushes Drew Barrymore during a touchy talk show interview

Martha Stewart was forced to push the dainty Drew Barrymore away from her after the show’s host awkwardly stroked Stewarts backside for a few seconds.

The ‘ET’ star went sensitive with ‘Martha: The cookbook” author on Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” as they discussed what made Stewart “soft and gooey” inside.

“Treatment,” Stewart replied, as Barrymore clarified the flirtation, “when you’re treated like a lady.”

Stewart, 83, looked uncomfortably at the audience before shooing the “Never Been Kissed” star away and saying: “You’re the wrong type.”

Barrymore, 49, slumped dramatically back onto the sofa and said: “I know… Although, as it is with men, Martha, I’m not so sure anymore.”

The ’50 First Dates’ star is known for being overly sensitive with her guests and was called a ‘whiner’ when she tightly shook Oprah Winfrey’s hand last december

A clip of the interaction saw the media mogul and Barrymore sitting close together and discussing the importance of the studio audience.

Barrymore squeezed Winfrey’s hand tightly while her other hand caressed the “Color Purple” star’s arm.

“She’s really pissing me off now. It’s just so (sic) weird,” one critic wrote on social media about the interaction, while another added: “Drew is too indulgent and creepy.”

Winfrey, however, defends Barrymore days after her talk show appearance.

“I was actually comforted by the stroking of the arm,” the legendary TV personality told TMZ. “I wasn’t uncomfortable at all.”

The “Charlie’s Angels” star, meanwhile, he defended his intense interview style in August, telling “Entertainment Tonight” that “physical distance” is not her “forte.”

“First of all, we will always be big on joy and laughter and feel good,” she said. “It was something I always wanted to do, but I never thought we would be launching into a pandemic.

“And trying to lean into the joy and feel-good comedy at that point was really weird and weird,” Barrymore continued. “Do you know how hard the pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio apartment. I like being around people.”

Barrymore joked that she’s “not everyone’s favorite.”
