Diddy’s former bodyguard sues rape accuser for defamation

Diddy’s legal trials over the past year related to his alleged sexual crimes they didn’t just affect him. His former bodyguard is suing one of his rape accusers for defamation in response to her lawsuit involving him, according to a report from Rolling Stone.

Thalia Graves sued Bad Boy founder Joseph Sherman for allegedly drugging, tying up and raping her at Bad Boy Daddy’s House studio in 2001. She filed the lawsuit less than a year after Puff’s ex-girlfriend Cassie opened its doors in November 2023, suing him for rape, trafficking and more.

According to the lawsuit, Graves learned that her rape had been recorded and shown to several men. Graves’ ex-boyfriend claimed he also saw the tape and it was sold as casual porn. Sherman, however, denies all the allegations. He claims he stopped working for the controversial mogul in 1999 and never even met Graves.

Joseph Sherman included several screenshots in his lawsuit where Thalia Graves asks if she ever worked for Diddy and to call his number. She also seemed to be trying to get him to testify against Diddy in court. “If you will be my witness against Diddy then my lawyers will leave you out of any proceedings,” one of the messages read. “I’ll make sure the state doesn’t get charges or rape charges against you.”

Sherman’s defamation suit is for the reputational and financial losses she suffered as a result of her allegations. It also sues for emotional distress, negligence, abuse of process and more. He took the stand as the first person named in any of Diddy’s lawsuits to contradict one of his accusers.

Diddy is currently behind bars after he was arrested in September in New York City. His federal indictment outlined charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. One of the most talked about aspects of his indictment was that it passed 1,000 bottles of oil and baby lube, three assault rifles with serial numbers scratched off, and footage of all his “freaks”.
