He also had his driver’s license suspended for six months.

Former Toulouse, Sevilla and Monaco striker Ben Yedder can appeal the verdict.

He had been accused of leading a young woman, born in 2001, to an underground car park, tried to masturbate in front of her and touched her thigh, as reported by RMC Sport.

His defense insisted that the allegation of touching the woman’s thigh “is not a serious fact”.

He was arrested while “intoxicated” between the night of Friday, September 6 and the early hours of Saturday morning.

Ben Yedder said during the trial that he was so drunk that he did not remember any sexual assault.

Since his arrest, Ben Yedder has attended Alcoholics Anonymous and admitted he was “hoping to heal from the situation”.

“I’m making an effort,” said the former France international. “Stopping for good is the best way to heal. I always emphasized and I was always there when justice called me.’

He also saw a “specialist psychologist”.

In a separate legal case, Ben Yedder was charged last year with rape, attempted rape and sexual assault over another alleged incident in the south of France.

Ben Yedder denies the allegation.

He is also due in court in December after his wife accused him of psychological abuse during their divorce proceedings.

Ben Yedder has played 19 times for France, scoring three goals, his last appearance was in June 2022.

During spells with Toulouse, Sevilla and Monaco, the currently clubless striker scored 259 goals in 513 games.
