German sexual health brand Billy Boy has partnered with Innocean Berlin to introduce a digital condom designed to prevent unauthorized recordings of intimate moments. Accompanying this innovation is the CAMDOM app, designed to block the cameras and microphones of all devices in the bedroom, ensuring that no one can take photos or videos without consent. The app has a security measure that triggers an alarm if someone tries to disable it. Although this product promises to protect intimate experiences, it has generated mixed reactions on social media, sparking discussions about consent and digital privacy in modern relationships.

According to Ads of the World, the app’s developer, Felipe Almeida, said in a statement: “Nowadays, smartphones have become an extension of our body and we store a lot of sensitive data on them. To protect you from recording non-consensual content, we’ve created the first app that can block your camera and microphone simply by using Bluetooth.”

Reacting to the post, one user joked: “Hang on baby, it’s updating.”

Another said: “Finally a safe precaution for Phone S**. I need to be safe from the “I love you” virus.

“WTF is a digital condom? You guys are crazy now with the technological innovations,” read one comment.

Another added: “It’s sad that this is necessary in our society.”

Speaking about the app, Billy Boy’s brand manager Alexander Strumann said: “We wanted to take the next step and protect the digital generation from a threat that a regular condom can’t, but a digital one can: namely, leaking non-consensual media during sex.”

The company explained that using the CAMDOM app is as simple as using a regular condom. Before entering privacy, users simply hold their smartphones closer and press a virtual button to block all cameras and microphones. If someone tries to disconnect the app, an alarm will be triggered to warn them about the risk of unwanted registration. The app can lock multiple devices simultaneously. Billy Boy aims to increase people’s enjoyment, especially among younger people, with a dedicated safety app.

CAMDOM is only available on Android devices, and the company plans to launch an iOS app soon.
