RUSSELL, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Emergency crews responded to a building collapse in Russell.

Russell-Montgomery Police said the collapse occurred at Strathmore Mill Building #1. Russell-Montgomery Police Lt. Sean Shattuck told us two people were injured, one of whom was flown by medical helicopter for a head injury. The conditions of the two people were not immediately known.

People are asked to avoid the area and that Woronoco Road is closed to traffic until further notice.

Western Mass News has a crew headed to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
