Brad Pitt he just secured an important victory in his course legal battle with ex wifeAngelina Jolie over the French wine cellar Miraval Castle.

In new court documents filed Friday, Nov. 8 and obtained by PEOPLE on Monday, Nov. 11, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lia Martin dismissed three challengers — otherwise known as motions to dismiss — recently filed by Jolie’s legal team related to Pitt’s claims in court that Jolie breached a verbal and written agreement not to sell her holdings in Miraval without permission from both parties.

The ruling came in response to Jolie’s requests to dismiss three separate causes of action filed by Pitt in a complaint filed in the case in April, in which Pitt’s lawyers claimed the former couple’s companies, Mongo Bongo and Nouvel, “have concluded a written act. the 2013 agreement to grant each other a right of first refusal on any sale of their respective interests in Miraval” and that the written agreement “prevented Mondo Bongo and Nouvel from selling their interests without each other’s consent.”

That written agreement between the two companies, Pitt’s lawyers said in the April complaint related to any sale of Miraval, existed in addition to a verbal agreement between Jolie and Pitt to obtain each other’s consent before selling their stakes in wine cellar. According to the November 8 decision, Jolie has 30 days to respond.

“This is a clear win for Brad, proving the legitimacy of his claims and proving once again that the other side’s talk is not supported by substance,” a source close to Pitt told PEOPLE.
