SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A juvenile was arrested after the gun they were playing with discharged and hit another juvenile in Sparks Saturday night.

Crews responded to the 5600 block of El Paseo Drive for a report of a juvenile who had been shot around 9:20 pm on November 9th.

Upon arrival, Sparks Police Department officers rendered medical aid to the juvenile who was then transported by REMSA to the hospital. The minor is reportedly in stable condition.

During the subsequent investigation, officers learned that another juvenile had been playing with a handgun when it discharged and struck the victim.

The juvenile was arrested for being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated, child endangerment, pointing/discharging a firearm at a person and minor in possession of a firearm.
