WILLIASMPORT — A Lycoming County man is being held without bail and has been charged with attempted homicide in a shooting related to the purchase of a vehicle.

Tyler Scott Whyte, 28, of Wither Hollow Lane, just west of Williamsport, in Woodward Twp. is accused of shooting Shawn Shipton multiple times around 10:00 p.m. Friday.

Shipton was admitted to UPMC Williamsport suffering from five gunshot wounds to the left side of his chest and a collapsed lung, state police said they were told. His status was not available.
