Van Nuys crash leaves 2 in critical condition; 1 driver arrested and another wanted – Daily News

Crashes involving two speeding cars, two other vehicles and a hit-and-run left two victims seriously injured in Van Nuys on Friday, Nov. 8, authorities said.

Around 10 p.m., a Mercedes-Benz GT 63 and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan were traveling westbound on Sherman Way at a high rate of speed, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement Saturday. The Mercedes collided with an eastbound Honda Civic turning into a parking lot at Sherman Circle. The two occupants of the Honda, residents of Panorama City, suffered serious injuries, the LAPD said.

The driver of the Rolls-Royce, who swerved to avoid colliding with the Honda, veered into oncoming traffic lanes and collided with an eastbound Chevy Traverse. The Rolls-Royce continued southwest after the impact and collided with a kerb. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction without rendering aid to others involved in the collision, the LAPD said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the two Honda victims to local hospitals for medical treatment, where they remain in critical condition. Neither was immediately identified.

The driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and taken to hospital after complaining of injuries. Police were still looking for the driver of the Rolls-Royce, who was wanted for reckless driving and hit-and-run.
