LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) are currently investigating a fatal crash involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, according to LSP Police Matt Gaspard.

At approximately 4:50 p.m. today, state police were notified of a three-vehicle crash on Nelson Road at Plantation Drive. One person died in the crash, Gaspard said.

According to Gaspard, the accident involved an unmarked Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office vehicle driven by an off-duty deputy.
