DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – A resident of the GL Homes community known as “Dakota” is facing multiple charges Friday after an apparently failed attempt to break into a apartment looking for drugs. Morris Connor of the 9600 block of Brook Isles Avenue in “Dakota” is out of jail on nearly $20,000 bond.

According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.comConnor and another person were supposed to meet a woman in Greenacres to buy or obtain “lean,” which police describe as a drug. When no one answered the door where “lean” was to be offered, Connor and another person opened the unlocked apartment door and entered. They are allegedly seen on video surveillance rummaging through the apartment and eventually taking a bottle of Clonazepam – a seizure medication also used as a sedative.

Witnesses to the apparent break-in called the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived moments later and saw Connor Morris attempting to flee the scene. When a citizen tried to block him in the parking lot, Morris allegedly tried to drive around the blocked car and managed to hit four other cars in the process. He was eventually handcuffed by the police who charged him with the following offences:

“Battery on specified personnel,” “burglary of an unoccupied dwelling,” “over-the-counter possession of a controlled substance,” “criminal mischief over $200 but under $1,000,” and “resist and officer without violence.”

Connor Morris was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $25,000 bond. He is part owner of the home in Dakota, which the Palm Beach County Property Assessor says has a total market value of $945,861.
