Tribeca Citizen | Sneak Peek: What’s new about the Church

ness, the trampoline workout that was founded here in 2019will open its (cool) new studio at 200 Church on November 16, with classes starting then and additional wellness facilities to follow in early 2025.

The studio offers high-intensity, low-impact trampoline and sculpture classes in small groups. And after the new year, they will expand with more fitness classes and facilities – changing rooms, a commercial space, a sauna, cold bath, a private training studio and private training sessions, including Pilates reformer. (Images of space below are renderings.)

The idea for The Ness – think about happiness or shape or well-being or simply choose your favorite character – was launched in Bari, Leonard’s former fitness studio. Aly Giampolo and Colette Dong were both professional dancers and met at the contemporary band they were performing with, but they bonded over a particular class they were teaching: trampoline cardio. Bari closed in the fall of 2018, and by the following March, the two were installed on the third floor of 406 Broadway, with a row of west-facing windows and a few layers of rubber under the wooden floors.

“At ness, there’s no pressure to conform to a specific idea of being ‘fit’ or bending over backwards for the sake of health,” Aly said. “We look forward to welcoming everyone through our new doors and continuing to highlight the joy and healing that comes from collective movement.”

More TK shortly after opening.
