Ferrero reveals Juventus have appealed against Ronaldo’s decision

Juventus president Gianluca Ferrero has confirmed that the club has appealed the court’s decision in the infamous Cristiano Ronaldo case.

The club is holding its annual shareholders meeting on Thursday and the meeting started with a word from the Bianconeri president. The 60-year-old addressed several topics, including the club’s legal dispute with Ronaldo.

This issue dates back to the Covid-19 era, when the two sides signed what was labeled a “secret agreement”, acknowledging that the club owed the Portuguese €19.6 million in deferred wages.

The deal came to light during the Prisma investigation, with prosecutors using it as a tip evidence of management misconductespecially since it remained hidden and unrecognized in the balance sheet.

However, the former Real Madrid and Man United star insisted on collecting the promised figures, so he decided to take the matter to court.

In the end, an arbitration committee decided that Juventus should pay Ronaldo half of the requested amount, around 9.8 million euros.

However, the Serie A giants remain defiant, with Ferrero revealing that the club’s legal team have lodged an appeal against the decision.

“We do not agree with this judgment which established a fair division of responsibilities, so we appealed it to the court in Turin. We do not agree with the substance of this arbitration”, said the president of the via club The Bianconero.

Ronaldo signed for the Bianconeri in the summer of 2018 for a club record fee. He spent three years at Turin under three different managers. And although he managed to win the Serie A title twice, he failed to lead the club to Champions League glory as originally hoped.

CR7 then seized the opportunity return to Old Trafford in August 2021 and has been plying his trade with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr since January 2023.
