An East Prospect man has taken a plea deal in which prosecutors dropped rape and other charges in a case that accused him of assaulting a transgender woman last year.

Christopher Vuiller, 36, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint with risk of serious bodily injury. The charge was added as part of the plea, according to court documents.

The plea of no contest, under the Latin legal term “nolo contendere”, meant that Vuiller did not admit guilt but also did not contest the charges and was sentenced as if he had been guilty.

York County Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph Adams then sentenced Vuiller to five years of probation for unlawful restraint. Vuiller was also ordered to comply with sex offender conditions, court documents show.
