Tesla Model S Plaid Gets Police Cruiser Treatment

The first Tesla Model S Plaid patrol vehicle to roll out of the Up.Fit garage will go to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s community outreach program. It is equipped with custom forward and rear facing warning lights integrated into the front and rear windows to preserve the car’s aerodynamics. There are additional lights in the door sills and bumper. High and low frequency emergency sirens and public alert systems are also mounted on the electric cruiser, making it fully compliant with California Title 13, which dictates what a highway patrol vehicle must be equipped with, among other things .

The fast electric police car also has some goodies under the skin, such as improved brakes and lightweight forged wheels.
