30-year maximum sentence set in plea deal for Fort Wayne man accused of recording himself abusing girl for money

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A Fort Wayne man accused of profiting from recording the sexual abuse of a girl pleaded guilty to child molestation Tuesday in a deal that would limit his sentence to 30 years .

BACKGROUND: 38-year-old man arrested Thursday on multiple child sex charges

Mynor Esquite, 38, is accused of abusing a girl between the ages of 12 and 14 more than 30 times, according to an affidavit written by Fort Wayne police officers. He was charged in July with six felonies, including three counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.

A plea agreement filed Tuesday shows Esquite pleaded guilty to a single count of child molestation in exchange for a maximum of 30 years in prison. The actual sentence will be determined by Allen Superior Court Judge David Zent during a Nov. 26 sentencing hearing if the judge accepts the plea deal.

The victim told investigators the abuse began when she was 12 and continued for two years until she reported it, court records show. The abuse allegedly occurred at multiple locations in and outside of Allen County.

Mynor told the girl there were men who paid him for the abuse videos, she told investigators.
