Detroit man charged in Livonia pool hall attack, bail set at $1 million

LIVONIA, MI — A man accused of shooting two men at a pool hall in Livonia has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder. According to the Livonia Police Department, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Kamari Parham, 25, of Detroit, in connection with the shooting that occurred at Snookers’ Pool & Pub located at 27630 Schoolcraft.

Parham is accused of shooting a 36-year-old man and a 31-year-old man — both from Detroit — who were in an altercation with each other before Parham pulled out a gun and fired, hitting both victims . Police were called to the bar around 1:20 a.m. and discovered one of the victims near the front entrance with a gunshot wound to the back. While at the scene, police received another call that the other victim was at the nearby Holiday Inn with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said, while Parham was arrested at the pool hall without further incident.

Parham was arraigned in 16th District Court on the assault and other related charges, but LPD did not disclose the specifics of the additional charges. Bond was set at $1 million cash, and Parham is due back in court Nov. 14 for a preliminary exam.
