The officer was filmed on Nelson Mandela Road near Fountains Valley in Groenkloof on Saturday.

The incident on Saturday has since gone viral on social media.

TMPD spokesman Isaac Mahamba said the officer received a notice of intent to suspend.

“TMPD notes with great concern the video circulating on social media platforms. In response to the alleged bribery, TMPD launched an internal investigation.

“The member will be notified of the intent to suspend and must provide the department with reasons why they should not be suspended within 48 hours.

“A statement from the complainant and the member is required as part of the investigative process.

“These allegations of corruption are inconsistent with the beliefs and principles of the department and will be dealt with decisively,” he added.
