Snoop Dogg teams up with Tom Petty estate for ‘Mary Jane’ anthem.

Snoop Dogg called his upcoming collaboration with the late Tom Petty a “weed song.”

The rapper’s new album, Missionary, will feature Ice Spice, Eminem, 50 Cent and a contribution from the estate of the late Juice WRLD. However, Snoop is particularly excited about “Last dance with Mary Jane,” featuring the vocals of Jelly Roll and Petty, who died in 2017.

“Well, Tom Petty is a weed song, so I don’t know if they’re going to let that one in,” he said. Variety. “But the 50 Cent/Eminem song is a real street record that sounds like it should be in this game with all the different things I’m seeing. Especially in my maps, so it fits perfectly with the things I do.”

Eminem lending his talents

Snoop – whose real name is Calvin Broadus – also revealed that Eminem will appear in the album’s campaign. He said he was looking forward to working with his fellow rapper.

“That’s Slim Shady, that’s my guy!” he said. “This is my gang partner Libra. So we like to do as many things as we can together; we like to do (them) because we are a family. So I was glad to see that he was a part of it as well.”

And along with a new album, Snoop also has Hollywood plans that include a surprising approach Planet of the Apes.

“I can’t really give up on the story, but I’m going to (share) the idea. i love Planet of the ApesSnoop said. “Planet of the Apes made me wait too long to see the next one. So I’m going to do something about that where you don’t have to wait. But imagine they are dogs instead of monkeys.”
