eHealth Exchange unveils exciting agenda for 2024 annual meeting

Agenda includes keynote speakers from CDC and Elevance Health, panels on TEFCA expansion, and advanced use of FHIR for payer and public health data exchange

VIENNA, Va., Nov. 13, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Electronic health exchange, one of the nation’s oldest and largest health information networks, is excited to announce the eHealth Exchange 2024 Annual Meeting agenda, which is packed with leading health experts from across the medical ecosystem.

As a Designated Qualified Health Information Network® (QHIN) under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), eHealth Exchange has aggressively paved a path in 2024 for rapidly interoperable healthcare resources® (FHIR®) to be used at scale to promote public health and provider-payer exchange. This year’s agenda will therefore spend a lot of time on three key topics: TEFCA, public health and the payer-provider exchange.

Set for December 10th in Nashville, TN, this year’s events include:

  • Jirjis, MD, MBA, FACP is the Division Director of Data Policy and Standards in the Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He will outline CDC’s ambitious agenda for advancing data sharing and interoperability in the public health sector.
  • J. Marc Overhage, MD, PhD, is the Chief Health Information Officer at Elevance Health. As a practicing physician of 20 years, combined with over 35 years of experience in clinical and scientific systems development and implementation, he has a unique 360-degree view of the US healthcare system and will share his perspective on how interoperability can lead to significant changes in healthcare. delivery.
