SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) – A 31-year-old man died in one of two separate shootings in South Euclid on Sunday.

According to the South Euclid Police Department (SEPD), officers responded to the first shooting at 12:33 a.m. on the 4000 block of Okalona Road, where a 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The 31-year-old Euclid man, later identified as Jermaine Taylor, died from his injuries.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center has ruled his death a suspected homicide, according to the Cuyahoga County Coroner.

SEPD responded to the second shooting at 12:42 a.m. on the 3800 block of Salisbury Road.

Police found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, according to SEPD.

The EDPS said they took a man from the scene for questioning.

The two shootings were more than 2.5 miles apart.
