How scary is it to drive in South Africa? Well, an online study of more than 2000 driver ranks South Africa 21 of 25 NATIONS surveyed. Or, in other words, if one is not at all scary and 10 is like driving until the end of days, South Africa is a 6 out of 10reports Business technology.

Specifically, the survey derived from the UK Old car comparison wanted to know which country causes the most anxiety for drivers. And it has attracted discoveries from backgrounds as diverse as Australia, Canada, France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, the UK and the US. Encouraging, while South African Driving Standards they are by no means the best globally, according to the survey there are at least twenty worse countries to drive in. And we will rank them now…

While at the other end of the scale, the Netherlands (not listed) has the lowest “scare score” of all at just 4.71 out of 10. It is praised for its high quality roads and courteous drivers.
