52-year-old Kannada film director Guruprasad, known for his acclaimed works like silk, Eddelu Manjunathaand Special directorwas found dead in his flat in Madanayakanahalli, Bengaluru.

Police are investigating to confirm the time and circumstances in which he died.

right Asianet Newsneighbors alerted the police after they detected a foul smell from his home. Following investigations, authorities found Guruprasad hanging from a ceiling fan, suggesting he may have taken his own life days earlier.

Reports suggest that Guruprasad may have been under pressure from his creditors, which may have prompted him to take his own life. The director, who recently remarried, was also facing financial challenges, including recent allegations of unpaid purchases.

Guruprasad, apart from his directorial work, has acted in several films and was in the middle of his latest project, Edemawhich was in production at the time of his passing.

Related searches included phrases such as “director Guruprasad”, “Guruprasad death” and “Guruprasad suicide”. The term saw the highest search volume in Karnataka, followed by Goa and Andhra Pradesh. This surge in interest followed news of Kannada filmmaker Guruprasad’s body being found in his Bengaluru apartment.
