Local man arrested by US Marshals during ‘Operation Safe Haven’

A local man has been arrested during a domestic violence and family violence fugitive arrest initiative.

The US Marshals Service Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) conducted “Operation Safe Haven” from October 1st through October 31st.

During law enforcement, marshals targeted fugitives with domestic violence and domestic violence warrants, giving particular priority to those who used weapons or had violent tendencies, according to a news release.

TRENDING STORIES:

“Safe Haven” led to the arrest of the suspects on charges including murder, forcible sexual assault, domestic violence, aggravated assault and child abuse.

On Oct. 30, marshals arrested James Wilson, who was wanted by Dayton police for felony domestic violence and strangulation.

He also faces federal charges for violating his supervised release.

A total of 53 fugitives were arrested across the state.
