“Be prepared for winter conditions. Use chains when necessary. Carry emergency supplies.”

DIAMOND LAKE, Ore. – A 10-mile stretch of Oregon Highway 138 east of Diamond Lake Junction (OR 230) is closed, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced Friday around 3:30 p.m.

“The roadway is blocked by disabled vehicles that are not using chains as required,” ODOT said.

Drivers are asked to take an alternate route or delay travel until conditions improve.

“Be prepared to use chains if traveling at higher altitudes; carry emergency supplies.”
