The Department of Justice will monitor voting rights in Nevada on Election Day

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) — The Justice Department will monitor 86 jurisdictions in 27 states, including Clark County, for the 2024 general election.

The DOJ announced Friday that federal voting rights laws will be enforced and protected on Nov. 5 by staff members stationed across the country.

According to officials, staff are regularly deployed to monitor compliance.

Officials report that the Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section will oversee compliance with federal statutes such as the “Voting Rights Act, the National Voter Registration Act, the Help America Vote Act, the Uniformed Citizens Voting Act and more also increase the Civil Rights Act”.

Staff will also seek to support the ADA citizen’s “equal opportunity to vote” by the Disability Rights Section.
