Beaumont – Beaumont police have arrested a woman who will face public intoxication charges after investigators say she ran into a BISD school bus with children on it, apparently to get her child, according to information Sgt. Tom Swope with the Beaumont Police Department provided KFDM/Fox 4 News.

No children were injured. BISD says they were from Fehl-Price, which is a future third campus.

Sgt. Swope says KFDM officers were called late Friday afternoon to a report of an intoxicated woman at the bus stop weaving in and out of traffic in the 3900 block of Sarah, near the Grace Lake Apartments.

“When the officers got there, the woman ran into the school bus that had children on it, apparently to get her child,” says Sgt. Swope. “Our officers took her into custody. She will be charged by our officers with public intoxication and possibly other charges as this is still under investigation. BISD PD also arrived and I understand they will be filing criminal charges against her as well. what happened on the bus”.

“Your child was on a bus that was delayed due to a parent-involved situation at the Grace Lake Apartments stop. The students were never in danger, but our transportation department determined it was best for them to be transferred to another bus to complete their work. Administrators are continuing to investigate the event and will provide additional information once the investigation is complete.”
