Trump slams Harris for ‘worst jobs report in our country’s history’

Former President Trump weighed in on a jobs report released by the Labor Department on Friday, calling it the “worst jobs report in the history of our country” during a rally in Michigan.

“We have breaking news. It’s actually bad news. It’s only good for one thing, if you happen to run up against the stupid fools who created this news. It’s bad news, bad news for the country, which just announced a short time ago that the brand new jobs report conclusively proves that Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe have driven our economy off a cliff.” Trump told supporters in Warren, Michigan.

“And if she’s four years old, your family will never – you’ll never recover from these stupid people,” he added.

Department of Labor the data found that only 12,000 jobs were created in October while the unemployment rate remained stagnant at 4.1 percent, poor numbers for the Biden administration just days before Election Day.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that the hurricanes that hit the Southeast in recent weeks had an impact on the jobs report. The administration also noted the Boeing strike affected these figures.

“We know that there were two strong forces that led to negative and temporary impacts on wage growth. Those were, of course, the hurricanes that really hit the southeastern United States, large areas of it, and the strikes,” Council of Economic Advisers chairman Jared Bernstein said in an interview with CNBC on Friday.

“And if you factor in those factors, the underlying pace of payroll job growth is still healthy, probably in the 150,000 range. That’s enough to keep the unemployment rate steady.”

At the same time, Commerce Department data released this week highlighted some strong economic data, noting that from July to September the country’s gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of 2.8%.

But that didn’t stop Trump from criticizing the jobs report, calling the 12,000 figure “paying” and claiming “I’ve never heard of 12,000 jobs.”

“And think, this is not good news for them,” Trump said of Democrats. “I mean, how would you like to have an election in four days and basically have the worst jobs report in the history of our country.”

The economy has largely been seen as the main issue facing voters in this presidential election.
