Barricade situation in Tinley Park ends after 15 hours with arrest, transports to hospital

COOK COUNTY, Ill. — One person was taken into custody and two others taken to hospitals for evaluation following a 15-hour standoff with authorities in south suburban Tinley Park, authorities said.

What a Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesman called a “barricade situation” began shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at a home near 179th Street and Harlem Avenue. It ended after 3:30 a.m. Friday when authorities with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police, Tinley Park Police Department and South Suburban Emergency Response Team were able to get in, the spokesman said.

One person was arrested “without incident.” Two were transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, the spokesman said Friday afternoon.
