MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – A 30-year-old Middleburg Heights man was arrested around noon on Oct. 24 after police caught him driving a stolen car on Middlebrook Boulevard.

A license plate camera alerted police to a stolen Audi A4 traveling eastbound on Bagley Road off Interstate 71. Police spotted the car on Middlebrook, north of Bagley.

The Audi rear-ended a residential driveway on Middlebrook. Police checked the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles image of the owner of the Audi and it did not match the man driving the car.

The police entered the alley and ordered the man not to move. He was standing in front of the car holding a large box that he had taken out of the trunk of the Audi.

Police learned the man was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for a drug offense. The man said he bought the Audi from a friend of a friend for $2,500.

Inside the Audi, police found an unidentified green substance and five pills in a sandwich bag; a Cash App card belonging to a woman; and a 1999 tax return belonging to another man.
