Whether you’re looking for a place to take the family trick-or-treating, a haunted house to scare you, or just curious about how to get ready for Halloween, here’s what you need to know.

Halloween events for families in Northern Nevada

Spooktacular on Fallon’s Maine Street: From 4 to 6 p.m., Fallon businesses will host Halloween activities and games along Maine Street. For details visit visitfallonvada.com.

Hauntober Parade and Safe Trick-or-Treating: Virginia City, the Halloween capital of Nevada, holds a parade on C Street. Anyone in costume can participate – kids, adults, even pets. Parade registration is at 4:30pm at the Virginia City Jerky Co. and the event starts at 5pm. Then, between 6pm and 8pm, kids can go trick-or-treating at the boardwalk shops. Haunted houses are open in Reno, Sparks and Washoe County

The haunted house in the dark corner scare Reno’s weekends through November 2nd at the National Bowling Stadium from 6:30pm to 11:30pm

Andelin family farms The annual haunted corn maze, Corn Creepers and zombie paintball will also provide a scare for brave visitors on Saturday. Zombie paintball is from 6:45pm to 9:30pm and Corn Creepers is from 7:00pm to 10:00pm Both Andelin Farm activities require time reservations.

What will the weather be like on Halloween night? Bring a coat.

According to the National Weather Service, the weather should be clear tonight, but below freezing. Trick-or-treaters ready to brave the 27-degree weather should bring a coat.
