A fan walk sponsored by the PTA in a quiet New Jersey The city dissolved into chaos as the police were forced to intervene after hundreds of unruly teenagers began fighting in a local park and causing havoc.

The Collingswood Police Department shared in a Facebook post That the family-friendly Haunted Hayride in Knight Park called for police intervention after about 200 minors were dropped off at Knight Park in Collingswood, New Jersey.

“The event was quickly disrupted by fighting breaking out, mostly between arriving youths and unruly behaviour,” the department said.

Authorities said the out-of-control behavior began shortly after 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 19, with young adults “running recklessly through the crowd and lining up for the hay ride.”

But the night wasn’t over for the wild teenagers. Police said 50-70 juveniles took over the local gas station, Wawa.

“While officers were in the middle of dispersing the crowd from the park, a call came in reporting an incident at the Wawa on Haddon Avenue where 50-70 juveniles had taken over the store,” police said. “Officers were able to assist Wawa in dispersing the group of juveniles who were stealing items and causing a disturbance.”

The Wawa was also forced to close to prevent further damage, police said.

The chaos continued through residential yards, police said.

When the officers arrived in the park, they discovered that approximately 80 juveniles were engaged in a massive fight and were met with resistance from the youths who punched, kicked and pushed past officers to continue the fight,” police said. “Some juveniles broke away from the main group and started walking through nearby residential yards.”

Eventually, the police dispersed the crowd and restored order. They have not made any arrests, the department said.
