FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Floyd County man was arrested following a traffic stop where police said they found suspected marijuana, cocaine and other drugs.

The incident happened on Monday, October 28, when police were patrolling the Allen area of ​​Floyd County.

Christopher Saylor, 53, of Harold, was on US 23 when he allegedly changed lanes into an oncoming school bus.

When police pulled Saylor over, they noticed him moving around frantically in his vehicle, trying to hide illegal items.

Police said they detected an odor of marijuana immediately inside the vehicle.

When Saylor was told to get out of the truck, police found a baggie in his pants pocket containing a green leaf-like substance suspected to be marijuana. Police also found approximately 8.5 grams of suspected marijuana packaged in three separate bags. Police also seized powder weighing approximately 0.25 grams of suspected fentanyl, a white powder weighing approximately four grams of suspected cocaine, and 20 grams of mushrooms.

During the search of a vehicle, the police also found more drugs. 73 grams (2.5 ounces) of suspected marijuana was collected from the center console of the vehicle.

Saylor later told police that he was not dealing drugs, but instead was picking them up in Prestonsburg and doing a favor for a friend by delivering the drugs to them.

Saylor was charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces) – first offense, trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree – first offense (greater than or equal to four grams of cocaine), trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense ( carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives), operating on a suspended or revoked operating license and trafficking in a controlled substance, degree II – first offense (under 10 DU hallucinogen).

Saylor was taken to the Floyd County Jail. He was being held there on a $25,000 cash bond.
