The Morgans are back in action as a sequel to The Family Plan is in the works, with Mark Wahlberg set to produce and reprise his role as Dan Morgan, and Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby all returning to star, Apple . Original movies announced Wednesday.

Simon Cellan Jones will also return as director of Skydance Media’s action-comedy feature, which premiered as the most-watched film on Apple TV+ following its debut last year.

“I’m very excited to be back as Dan Morgan with my brilliant co-stars and with Simon and David back at the helm,” producer and star Mark Wahlberg said in a statement to The Wrap. “Creating ‘The Family Plan’ and seeing it become an instant hit with a global audience like it did was incredibly rewarding. We can’t wait to work with our partners at Apple and Skydance again on this next chapter for the Morgan family as their European vacation inevitably goes wrong.”

“I’m delighted to be back with The Morgan as I criss-cross Europe in search of the perfect action-packed family Christmas,” added director Simon Cellan Jones.

David Coggeshall, the writer of the first film, has returned to write the script for the sequel The Family Plan, which takes place at Christmas in Europe, where Dan has planned the perfect vacation for the Morgan family, but his past continues to haunt them in unexpected ways .

An Apple Original from Skydance Media, the sequel to “The Family Plan” will be directed by Simon Cellan Jones. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce for Skydance alongside Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson through Municipal Pictures. John G. Scotti will executive produce with Cellan Jones.

Cellan Jones is repped by Gersh, Independent Talent Group and Empirical.

The “Family Plan” sequel joins upcoming Apple original films produced by Skydance Media, including the action-packed genre flick “The Gorge,” starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy; “Fountain of Youth,” Guy Ritchie’s star-studded upcoming film starring Natalie Portman and John Krasinksi; action-adventure May Day, starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh; “Way of the Warrior Kid,” the inspiring new film directed by McG and starring and produced by Chris Pratt; and “Matchbox,” the live-action feature based on Mattel’s iconic line of toy vehicles, directed by Sam Hargrave and starring John Cena.
