Bosses have high hopes for AI in the workplace — and they even want it to make decisions for them

New TeamViewer research revealed AI tools are increasingly used by IT, operational technology (OT) and business leaders to manage complex tasks, make autonomous decisions and provide forecasts.

However, despite clear optimism, three-quarters (74%) of IT decision makers (ITDMs) and even more (87%) CEOs expressed concern about AI security, including data management.

This has led to a cautious approach to implementing AI within organisations, yet almost two in three (64%) are still implementing AI.

Business leaders are eager to use AI

Research suggests there is still room to improve AI risk management, however two-thirds of UK decision makers would bet on their organisation’s ability to manage, almost half (48%) of CEOs are willing to bet. a week or a month of payment.

Confidence comes from recognizing the transformative potential of AI when it comes to productivity. While the study covers leaders from France, Germany, Australia, Singapore and the US, it notes the productivity struggles taking place in the UK, adding that 74% of UK decision makers believe AI could generate the most significant productivity growth in the last century.

What’s more, leaders believe AI could improve workplace accessibility for those with chronic illnesses.

“AI offers huge potential for promoting equal opportunities in the workplace, supporting employees in overcoming challenges and making tasks more efficient at all levels,” noted TeamViewer CHRO Constanze Backhaus.

More broadly, survey respondents predict a potential average revenue increase of 270% through AI implementation, with time savings equivalent to 16 hours each month for IT professionals.

With this in mind, four out of five (81%) UK respondents expect extensive training in the next six to 12 months. “The adoption of AI is growing rapidly as companies increasingly recognize its tangible benefits in boosting productivity and streamlining operations,” added TeamViewer CPTO Mei Dent.

However, while research has borne out the predictions of leaders and experts, the true benefits of AI across all sectors and types of workers remain to be seen.
