OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Day 6 of the first weather warning has ended for Tuesday, now that the worst fire danger is gone…however, winds will remain strong overnight before a front cold to move wednesday morning.

The cold front arrives around 7am for the metro…at this point we will be near 70 degrees and that will be the warmest it will feel all day. Temperatures drop throughout the day, with an “afternoon high” of around 55 at noon.

Thunderstorm chances also increase throughout the day. Smooth showers are possible after 4:00am, with a better chance for thunderstorms developing around 11:00am-1:00pm. These bring a chance of heavy rain and, as they move SE, a higher severe threat.

The best storm chances are E of the metro by 6pm with a few lingering showers possible overnight.

A few storms, mainly SE of the metro, threaten 60 mph gusts and 1″+ hail…a tornado or two can’t be ruled out for the far SE corner of the viewing area.

Beyond that we remain cooler and more active with more rain in the forecast. Halloween will be cool but dry with a high in the mid 50s.
