Gets a man jailed for life on drug trafficking charges

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Sparks man has had his probation revoked and has now been sentenced to life in prison for illegal possession of firearms and drug trafficking in a second case against him.

Mario Fertini Jr. was first arrested in December 2019 following a police pursuit that ended with his arrest and the recovery of 41.55 grams of methamphetamine and 24.33 grams of heroin. After being convicted, he was sentenced to 4-10 years in prison, suspended for 36 months of probation.

Officers from the Regional Narcotics Unit were told that less than a year after receiving parole, Fertini was once again dealing and selling narcotics.

Fertini was arrested during a police operation to buy drugs from him. Upon his arrest, Fertini was found with approximately 10 kilograms of methamphetamine and a handgun in his apartment.

A judge revoked his original probation and sentenced him to serve 4-10 years for the first count and issued a consecutive life sentence with parole eligibility after 22 years for the second count.
