Sentencing hearing set for Leilani Simon

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A sentencing hearing has been set for a Chatham County mother convicted of killing her young son, Quinton Simon, and dumping his body in a dumpster.

Leilani Simon is expected to appear before Judge Tammy Stokes on Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m., according to court records.

She faces life in prison.

Simon was found guilty on Friday of malicious murder, two counts of felony murder, concealing the death of another, false report of a crime and 14 counts of making a false statement.

The trial lasted 10 days, the jury heard from over 30 witnesses.

Simon reported 20-month-old Quinton missing on October 5. His remains were found weeks later on November 18 in a Chatham County landfill.
