Police said the fatal collision happened on Victoria Road at the A34 roundabout in Aston shortly before 23:45 GMT on Monday.

One man killed and another seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident.

Three people have been arrested after the crash, which happened on Victoria Road at the A34 Six Ways roundabout in Aston, Birmingham, just before 23:45 GMT on Monday.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was a rear-seat passenger in a Ford Focus that had been involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. One of the vehicles was left on its roof.

The occupants of the Mitsubishi left the scene but two men, aged 18 and 19, later went to hospital and were held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A third man, aged 41, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, is also in police custody for questioning.

The force added it believed “at least” one more person was traveling in the Mitsubishi and appealed for them to come forward.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it arrived at the scene to find one of the vehicles on its roof.

A second Ford passenger was treated for serious injuries and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the service said.

It added that a third man was taken to the same hospital to be treated for injuries not believed to be serious.

Two other people in the car were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Officers said their thoughts were with the victim’s loved ones and pledged to do all they could to support them.

The roundabout was reopened to traffic at around 0815 GMT on Tuesday, with Victoria Road remaining closed for investigation work.

Police have asked for anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch.
