The accident happened on the Tamlaght road

An 83-year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in County Tyrone earlier this month.

Police named the victim as Brendan Conlan, from the Cookstown area.

The collision happened at around 16:35 BST on October 20 on Tamlaght Road, just outside Coagh.

The driver of a red Volkswagen Caddy, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Brendan Conlon, who was driving a gray Peugeot 208, was also taken to hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.

The call of witnesses

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) collision investigation unit are examining the circumstances of the collision.

They want to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam or other footage.

Police believe a transit-style van was at or near the scene of the crash, and officers are asking the driver to come forward.
